Eligibility for Free NHS Contraception
- You must be living in the England
- Have begun menstruation
- Age between 18-49 for the combined pill
- Age between 18-54 for the progesterone only pill (mini pill)
- Minimum age of 18 for the morning after pill.

Morning After Pill
Emergency contraception is usually called the morning after pill. There are two emergency contraception available Levonorgestrel and Ulipristal. The emergency contraception is taken within 120 hours of either unprotected sex or when a condom splits or if you missed taking your contraception tablets.
The quicker you take the emergency contraception the more effective it is in preventing pregnancy. Levonorgestrel is taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex and Ulipristal can be taken with 120 hours of unprotected sex.
