Emergency contraception is time-sensitive and should be taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure.
If you require emergency contraception urgently, or you are close to the treatment window, please do not wait for a postal delivery. You should attend a local pharmacy, sexual health clinic, GP service, walk-in centre, or contact NHS 111 for urgent advice.
As a guide:
– Levonorgestrel emergency contraception is usually taken within 72 hours.
– EllaOne/ulipristal acetate emergency contraception is usually taken within 120 hours.
If your order may be affected by the bank holiday and you need emergency contraception urgently, please seek urgent face-to-face advice locally.
